MUNICH, DACHAU & SALZBURG
First stop, Munich:
Above is the Neues Rathaus (New City Hall) in the heart of Munich. It is in the center of Munich’s old town. The Rathaus holds Munich’s famous Glockenspiel.

During week 8, we had a walking tour of the Southbank area.

On Thursday, we took a class field trip to the BBC.
We had a great tour around the studios and even got to go into a dressing room used by Madonna, Elton John and Coldplay.
We then had an interactive part of our tour. Allie and Brendan got to present the weather, Katie and Katie were BBC broadcasters and Kelsey, Carlie and I had the opportunity to play The Weakest Link.

Weekend 4
This weekend, we spent a quiet weekend in London. While shopping on Oxford Street, It was our first sighting of consistent snow fall.
This was taken outside of Selfridges, a high end department store. It runs about a block long and is the U.K.’s second largest store next to Harrod’s.

On Thursday, we took a school field trip to Bournemouth University. By train, it’s about two hours outside of London. Our tour guide who works at BU received her Masters from Mizzou.

Weekend 3
This past weekend, Katie, Katie and I traveled to the lovely city of Norwich, Norfolk which is about 2.5 hours Northeast of London to visit one of Katie’s family friends.
On Saturday, we traveled to Southwold, Suffolk, a quaint seaside town.

This week was full of adventures.
First stops, Stonehenge and Bath.
It took us about an hour to get to Bath from Stonehenge. We’ve had great tour guides and the English countryside was beautiful.
While in Bath, we had the opportunity to visit the ancient Roman baths.

This week went really well – officially settled in and beginning to assimilate to the London way of life.

Life in London
I made it! After the scariest and second transatlantic flight of my life, I made it.
Out of the hundreds of seats on my 757 flight from Chicago to London, I happened to be seated next to my new friend Brendan, who is a Lambda Chi and print Journalism major at Mizzou.

Today’s the day! Currently, I’m sitting in the Kansas City airport where I’m getting ready to board my flight to Chicago. After an hour layover, I’ll be off to the U.K., officially saying goodbye to the states and arriving in London at 8a.m.

Countdown to London Town
It’s officially three days before I set sail (fly) and embark on the next four month European journey of my life.
